Lo Guarracino

A lu Guarracino che jeva pe' mare le venne voglia de se 'nzorare...

...this is the opening line of one of the oldest tarantella, Neopolitan, folk songs which dates back to the eighteenth century, written by an unknown author.  It tells of a complex love story between a fish, Guarracino who falls in love with Sardella, a female sardine, at first sight.  The tragedy is that she is already betrothed to Alleterato – a tuna, and so the tragedy unfolds. The rivalry between the two male suitors triggers an enormous fight that soon involves all the fish of the Mediterranea!!

It is the passion of this song that led to the naming of Lo Guarracino.
A name that captures all of the magic of the sea, filled with history, a passion for culture and an untold variety of... delicious fish, which after all are at the heart of the restaurant’s specialities.
